Designing the right building for you and your home
It may sound like a simple process but to design a successful extension on your home is often more challenging than many people think.
Modern conservatories (the general term for all glazed buildings) have far more expectations placed on them than the traditional conservatory of times-gone-by.
Traditionally, conservatories were designed to maintain tropical plants from all over the world in our Northern climate. Today, very few conservatories see much more than a few pot plants and the occasional grape tree. Our expectations are different, we want to use glass building designs to introduce light to our houses, to use them as we would a permanent extension, perhaps as a kitchen or an addition to an existing room to create a large open family room and quite frequently, both.
In the design area, we have gathered lots of photos of our projects, details and some during the build. These may give you some ideas for your own project. Matthew has also written some of his design ‘philosophy’ on the conservatories page.
